Youth Service

Youth Service has many and varied programs for clubs to select from, given our resources we have chosen the following program:

Programs 2007-2008:

Following are details of the major Youth Service programs supported by Waitara Rotary this year.

Rotary Youth Leadership Awards:

• The RYLA program is designed to:
• Encourage leadership of Youth by Youth,
• Publicly recognise Young People who give their time and serve as leaders in Youth Organisations.
• Provide a seminar course to improve leadership skills for those involved as youth leaders.
• The 2008 RYLA Camp will be held at Vision Valley in January and the club will sponsor one attendee, directly and has organised for Hornsby to sponsor another student.

Rotary Youth Exchange:

The club is currently hosting a Rotary Exchange student from Switzerland, Phillipo.
We were sponsoring another student Brittany from the USA but she has decided to return home early.
We have two members of our club serving on the District Youth Exchange Committee,PP Simon Bryan and Rtn Wendy Escott.

Other Youth Activities:

We hold the annual International Night at Hornsby RSL in May to showcase the talents of the current inbound exchange students.

MUNA �Model United Nations Assembly

We sponsored a team from Hornsby Girls High in the past.
