HoT Awards
This is a new innovative awards recognition program for this current Rotary year and involves a partnership between Waitara Rotary and the Hornsby Chamber of Commerce. The HoT Awards are dedicated to Hornsby TAFE and encompass four categories: Teaching, Administration, WorldSkills and Trainee/Apprentice.
Vocational Visits
Visits are planned to Parliament House, Thornleigh SES, Hornsby Police LAC, Ryde TAFE (restaurant).
Our club has taken an active position in promoting this new District Vocational Program primarily with Hornsby TAFE.
Hornsby Service Clubs - Sign has been upgraded
Hornsby Business Expo
Waitara Rotary and Hornsby Rotary took part in the Hornsby Business Expo held in the Hornsby Mall Friday September 14. Both Rotary Clubs are associate members of the Hornsby and District Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Waitara Oval Reserve - public amenity
The reserve area adjacent to the Hornsby Bowling Club is in need of upgrade to allow for improved public amenity. This is an opportunity to work in with Hornsby Shire Council and obtain Rotary signage.
�The Rotary Rogues�
There are several musicians in the local Upper North Shore Zone Rotary Clubs and consideration is being given to the forming of a band and holding some unique fundraising events.
Fundraiser Dinner(s)
Waitara Rotary is well connected into the local business community through the Hornsby Chamber of Commerce, Hornsby Council, local State Member of Parliament, community newspapers.
