Who
This training is targeted at interested club members such as the web champion, secretary, web editor or
other club member authorised to maintain the club’s data.
Before you arrive for training
If you do not already have member access to www.rotarynews.info please request your system user name
when you register. This will enable you to obtain a randomly generated password (which you may later
change) which will be automatically sent to your email address.
Content
1. What is the District Web?
a. Abilities.
b. Access rights.
c. Target readers.
2. A quick, hands-on look at:
a. Club and site administration
b. Content creation
c. Content editing
d. Menu Management
e. Working with photographs
f. Using attachments
g. Advanced content management (hyperlinks etc).
Training Outcome
You will:
a. Have the ability to manage your portfolios’ content on the web.
b. Be able to prepare articles for publishing at a future date.
c. Be able to include documents & pictures in articles you publish.
d. Have the ability to mentor the Rotarians and clubs that you have responsibility for.
e. Be able to help your clubs in their administration.
Where
Hornsby TAFE - Room G1.09
Building G is the Information Technology and Directors’ Unit building – well signposted.
It is located on the Western campus on the same side of the road as Hornsby swimming pool.
When
Training will only take 3 hours and you can choose to attend any one of the following 7 sessions. Each
session includes a 30 minute coffee break:
Wednesday 2 July (2 sessions): 8:15 for 8:30-12:00 and 12:45 for 1:00-4:30
Saturday 5 July (2 sessions): 8:15 for 8:30-12:00 and 12:45 for 1:00-4:30
Wednesday 9 July (2 sessions): 8:15 for 8:30-12:00 and 12:45 for 1:00-4:30
Saturday 12 July (1 session): 8:15 for 8:30-12:00
How to Register
Due to space restrictions we are limited in how many people we can accommodate. We would particularly
like to see Club Web Champions, Club Secretaries, District Advisers and District Committee Chairmen.
