• Looking to tie in Ginger Meggs as a theme for the Boot Sale
• Aussie hire will lend us an electronic sign for about a week before

President Arthur:

• District Magazine will be presented at the District Conference. We need to submit a page about our club.
• By 31st November we need RYLA candidates
• Christmas Party with Hornsby Monday 15th December at Bobbin Head
• Volunteer builders are required for projects in Mongolia
• Conference next year

• RAWCS volunteers needed.
• International projects can be listed on District Website
• Phone call from Judy Hopwood re Relay for Life
• D9680 Accounts have been audited - Conference has two major sponsors, RAMS and Phil McCarrol.
• District ran at a surplus of approx $9,000

LAST MEETING HIGHLIGHTS
PP Peter:
Highlighted the bio of the DGE John Cameron in the bulletin. Especially the Novus Foundation which is a Wahroonga initiative. Operation Boltdown raised approx $500 which was donated to PCYC - there will be two more this year. U Beaut Car sale, video on the website. PCYC 40th year in Hornsby - there will be a celebration. Would like Rotary and PCYC to be more linked. Bowlers at Waitara are now a PCYC project so they will continue to operate at the bowling.

Cheap Eats – Korean BBQ
Due to an editorial oversight this item was left out of last weeks’ bulletin – (the editor has had his pay stopped for this week) Nearly all club members attended a social function organised by PP Ralf at the Korean BBQ Restaurant at Turramurra.

Apologies that the meeting report will be missing from this bulletin. Got back from a weekend away last night, too tired to remember the Bulletin – left the notes at home today.

Number 9 2008-2009

In the absence of President Arthur the meeting was chaired by President Elect Rtn Wendy Escott. PP Peter Kirkwood reviewed the DG visit from last week. Acting President Wendy advised that the District was now setting up an office at Thornleigh and that the Youth Exchange Committee was looking at taking advantage of it.

Number 8 2008-2009

Last weeks meeting saw the first visit of DG Tony Castley and his wife Sandra to the club. DG Tony praised the club for it’s dedication and number of projects underway, especially given the size of the club.

Number 7 2008-2009

President Arthur Godfrey:

• Stewart has requested a leave of absence until January, we need a volunteer to replace him as Treasurer (later decided as Simon Slevin)
• There will be a D9680 Golf Day at Gosford on September 22nd.

Number 6 2008-2009

Arthur:

• The DG visit is now 18th August, this will be a partners night and our first ‘sit-down” meal.
• District Conference is 12th 15th March 2009 at Newcastle.

Number 5 2008-2009

The main topic of the meeting was a presentation by PP Simon Bryan on the new District Website.

Number 4 2008-2009

Arthur:

• GSE Team members and leaders being sought
• Kariong are running a “Great Walk and Family Fun Day” at Mt Penang Park 17th August
• Membership Seminar 17th August
• DG would like us to set ourselves a personal PB
• The Rotary Council for Legislation is meeting in 2010
• Studio ARTES raised over $30,000 during Carnivale

Number 3 2008-2009

Arthur:

• Would like the club to make a commitment to Rotary Foundation to try and make each member a centurion.
• There is a new DGN George Papallo
• WYD – Final details organised
• Kick a Goal for Kids is on the 30th August...............

Number 2 2008-2009

President Arthur worked through the organisation for World Youth Day next Wednesday:

• Simon Slevin deliver BBQ’s and Gas
•  Arthur Godfrey pick up food
•  Ivan Findlay deliver trestles from Studio ARTES
•  Gala Party Hire providing a Bain Maria

Changeover was held last week. Arthur Godfrey is now President, full team listing will be added to the Bulletin soon.
